Conceitos-chave em orientação profissional: uma visão geral de sua evolução

Resumo
Objetivo: Esclarecer as principais mudanças conceituais que surgiram na orientação profissional desde a segunda metade do século passado e as primeiras décadas do século XXI, um período marcado pela transição da orientação profissional para o desenvolvimento de carreira.
Metodologia: Foi realizada uma revisão da literatura sobre os conceitos de vocação, chamado, carreira e desenvolvimento de carreira, com base em contribuições teóricas de diversos autores internacionalmente reconhecidos na área de orientação profissional. Isso incluiu tanto aqueles que estabeleceram as ideias iniciais quanto aqueles que as transformaram e atualizaram para adaptá-las às mudanças do mundo moderno. Além disso, foram incorporadas as contribuições dos pesquisadores referentes ao contexto costarriquenho.
Resultados: Os quatro conceitos que emergiram com a disciplina e que posteriormente evoluíram são explorados em profundidade. Essas modificações representaram uma profunda transformação conceitual que, por sua vez, influenciou intervenções práticas; portanto, do ponto de vista epistemológico, a mudança tem implicações para a prática profissional.
Conclusões: Na Costa Rica, justifica-se que as instituições que oferecem serviços vocacionais, as instituições de formação em orientação profissional e os profissionais em exercício esclareçam o significado que atribuem a cada conceito e as premissas teóricas subjacentes. Além disso, é necessário um profundo conhecimento do contexto e das condições da Costa Rica.
